Friendship has played a foundational role in Brittany and Devin’s romance since the beginning. The two first met through their own best friends, who are also now married, and on January 23rd, 2021, the happy couple marked the official beginning of their own life together with the help of the Greystone wedding team.

On January 23, 2021, the happy couple marked the official beginning of their own journey of love and a life together with the help of the Greystone wedding team.

On the heels of a tumultuous year, the couple knew they wanted a beautiful venue that felt safe for their guests. The Greystone wedding team helped them create the elegant-yet-cozy special day Brittany had always imagined. The festivities began with a striking ceremony on the Founder’s Clubhouse patio followed by a reception where guests enjoyed in-house catering and a beautiful wedding cake.

We spoke to Brittany about how she knew Greystone was the right wedding venue for them, and the many ways Greystone worked with them to create the wedding they had always dreamed of.

How did HE PROPOSE?

“I have always told him that I wanted to be completely surprised and have no idea when it was going to happen. Devin and my best friend, Morgan, got together and came up with this plan to tell me Morgan’s father-in-law’s company was having a wine tasting at the botanical gardens. When we walked inside, Morgan said, ‘Oh, I left the tickets in the car,' and she left. That’s when Devin took me over to this cute little bench, turned toward me, and proposed! I was completely shocked! He also had two photographers hiding in the bushes! It was perfect.”

How did COVID-19 change your wedding plans?

“When we got engaged, COVID-19 wasn't being talked about. Trying to plan a wedding during the pandemic was a little stressful, but thankfully, not too bad since our wedding wasn't until January. We were more mindful about how many guests to invite to the ceremony and making sure seats were spaced out for social distancing. Greystone was absolutely AMAZING, and Olivia [Glasgow, Catering Director] was so easy to talk with. Talking to Olivia honestly felt like I was talking with one of my girlfriends. She and Greystone made this planning stress-free, and I couldn't be happier!”

What made Greystone the right place for your event?

“What got me was how gorgeous the venue is. I didn't want a ton of flowers and decorations, so when I saw how beautiful Greystone already was, I knew I wanted to get married there. Also, they offered catering, cake, desserts, and drinks. My husband and I really loved that, too, because we didn't want to deal with a lot of different vendors.”

What elements did your event feature?

“Amazing food! We had churros and donut holes for dessert, which were to die for! We also had a dance floor in front of the band that everyone took full advantage of. We built a greenery wall and had it out in the foyer, and it was a perfect spot for guests to take pictures.”

How did Greystone accommodate hygiene and safety protocol at your event?

“The buffet tables had a partition wall between the workers and guests. Guests were spaced out safely throughout the venue and all of the service staff wore masks the entire time.”

What was the best part about having your event at Greystone?

“Honestly, the best part was Olivia! She made the whole planning process a breeze! I was never once stressed with any of the details and everything went so smoothly on the day of! The venue is gorgeous and the food and desserts were so, so good!”
